looks like a clean car, don't like the spoiler or the wheels, with plastic bumpers and some classic rims it would be a nice looking vert

It is what it is
This is probably not exactly what I would have liked to buy a couple years ago when my fiver got taken out by a guy having a seizure, but when I found it, I bought it right away. It had about 95k miles on it and only 16k in the last five years. They guy changed the oil every four months even if it never left the garage. He gave me a CD with a copy of every receipt he got while he had it. Even ones for a couple bucks.
But it is an 88, which is kind of the weird year. It was never going to be the ultimate in purist vehicles, so I decided go with a little more modern look. Modern and e30's are . . . well, let's just say that most of the cool stuff from the late eighties is not really cool anymore. Trying to find a real m-technic II kit is hard enough, but good luck finding the side skirts. And I guess there just is not a huge market for appearance related products twenty years later.
So, I understand the issues some have, especially with the wheels. I don't care what anyone says, wheel selection for a 4x100 is not very good. I got about half off my first set of wheels and tires that were already mounted and balance and I couldn't pass them up. They were eighteens and I guess I got used to the look. Never planned on that big, never wanted that big, but that is the way it goes. I got these wheels a while back and got them with a little taller tire, rolled the front fenders, and I am pretty happy with it.
Of course I would love to do a bumper swap, engine swap, 5-lug swap, a turbo, change the color, a . . . well, you all know how it is! ;)

I think the car looks good, dropping it a bit more would help with the wheels.
Being an 88, isn't the rear plastic bumper conversion pretty much a plug and play type of thing?
Mine is a 1990 and it took me no more than 1 hour to install.
Clean car, I wish my paint looked as good as yours seems to be.344is! Obd1 conversion

I am keeping an eye out for bumper swap in my area. Shipping that stuff is a bit expensive.
