The guys who designed the manifold have also been designing and fabricating for almost 15 years now. Coming from a garage with 1JZs everywhere, I was surprised that my car did not come out of there with one as well.
We ran measurements to figure out everything and the main reason that we have two cylinders instead of one is because we wanted (by we I mean they because I just learned quietly) to keep the distance the same. Measuring with a string... all distances between the TB and the intake ports are the same within the half inch. If you ever cut the manifold in half you will see that runners 3 and 4 run much longer. Those same runners are the ones closest to the TB.
The distance between 1 and 6 is the vice-versa of that. We also added a point (courtesy of shappa) in the manifold as a split right down the small centered cylinder where the TB bolts to. TOok about 4 days of desgining and measuring and another 3 days to carry it out.
Im pretty comfortable with the result, but only time will tell how it will affect the motor.
