Finally got new rims on my E28...

Well, I finally got new rims. They are 16x7 et23 Ronal R9's. They were powdercoated white, but I painted them gunmetal and left the lips polished. I got them for free, and the Yoko AVS 225/50/16 Intermediates for $50. They made a nice improvement to the car, although they wouldn't be my first choice of wheel for this car.

Since then, I have blacked out the chrome trim, the rear bumper, put on a new exhaust with black E34 tips, and finished the Euro M30 motor. The car will be lowered next along with some bushings. For now, I am going to drive it as-is.




And, for a little asthetic pleasure... the garage floor, has been blessed with an 8ft long ///M in vibrant color done mostly by my girlfriend.

Those rims are cool as hell, they are really retro. Would you mind telling me how you polished the lips, and what your method was for masking them like that so you could paint the spokes? And what kind of paint did you use?

The lips were already polished perfectly, the rims were like new.
here is the pic of them masked off. I sprayed white lithium grease on the lips to keep paint from sticking and I wiped it off within 30min of painting without any problems.



TJ- they are very retro... kinda mercedes looking. I like how they look on the car, I just need to lower it now.

These also show my new custom exhaust. Cost $300 at a local shop, and I had to buy the tips. They look badass n the black-chrome color.

The blue E28 is Elliott's. You should see the garage with both our E30 M3's in there and then the E28's in the driveway... its big pimping. His car is an '88 528e.
