Exhaust looks great, its nice to not see a 6" fart can hanging from your sexy car.
it was 5", let's get it straight...

The bumper project may wait a while, being that it's my daily driver now, and I don't have access to another car, it'll have to wait. Plus I'd like to repaint it when I do the new door panels and bumper swap anyway ($$$$$). I've dropped enough money lately trying to get it back up to autocross standards and gathering parts for the engine swap.

I haven't decided what I want to do with the bumpers anyway. I'm leaning toward Rieger M3 at the moment if they can trim it to fit the early cars. Mostly I just want something that follows the lines of the Zender door panels / side skirts I'll be using, and unfortunately, that kit is the closest thing.

If you have to "Unfortunately" buy a kit, then don't do it man.

      Besides, that kit is hideous.

i have a question...do you feel a loss of bottom end torque with the straight pipes and free flowing exhaust?

im asking b/c when i went to replace all the gaskets on my exhaust, and found that my downpipe had broken off on one side and i was runnin half open headers, i replaced the whole system with my spare OEM unit, and i got TONS more torque now than before...

I didn't feel any loss, if anything, it felt more powerful. The different exhaust sound really throws you off though.

That sounds awesome, and you don't get any of that backfiring, popping noise.

Would I get that having my cat cut out and new pipes welded in?

I get a slight popping every once in a while, not noticeable. What you want to do with your exhaust is essentially what I have, I think it is a stock 'i' exhaust with the cat cut out, but the resonator left in. Unfortunately, I didn't have an 'i' exhaust to compare it to before, I just did it all at once.

that front pipe is exactly that, a cat down pipe with no cat pieces welded on. a no-cat exhaust doesnt have an o2 sensor. It is not worth yanking your cats off of your cars! IT WAS A 1 HP DIFFERENCE FROM THE FACTORY over here- 171ps vs. 170ps. plus its illegal and a pain in the butt to refix it when you realize what a waste it was. No CAT down pipes will NOT work with cat rear sections, unless you weld it all together, they are routed different. By the way, It sounds really nice!

I am appalled and embarrassed at the sight of the underside of your car. Granted, it's nearly 20 years old and it comes in contact with rain, dirt, and road grime daily, but c'mon man! Don't you care about your car's appearance?

The next time you wash your car, you should get up under it and scrub every little inch with a toothbrush. (Plan to spend at least 2 hours of your time doing this.)

But don't drive your car afterwards, especially in the rain! It might get dirty!
