        I had the same setup with docking station in my DD. Not sure what happened... The techs at Alpine seemed to think it was because of the extreme temps here and that it was operating well outside of its temp range. I seem to think they're right because it would do some funky things when it was really cold here. It still powers up but it wont go any further than the opening disclaimer screen. Nice unit, I'm thinking about buying another one as they are so cheap now on Ebay. I still have the docking station so...

                      Thanks guys! And no, the tape was for rock chips. I dont recall the last time I had bug issues on the front of my rear arches. :)
