I really like my old Blackbird. I need to update the maps though... Main reason I have it is I can plug it into the dock and use it through my touchscreen in the console. Although, I think its safer to be mounted up on the windshield, lol. What took a crap on yours?

I had the same setup with docking station in my DD. Not sure what happened... The techs at Alpine seemed to think it was because of the extreme temps here and that it was operating well outside of its temp range. I seem to think they're right because it would do some funky things when it was really cold here. It still powers up but it wont go any further than the opening disclaimer screen. Nice unit, I'm thinking about buying another one as they are so cheap now on Ebay. I still have the docking station so...

Thanks guys! And no, the tape was for rock chips. I dont recall the last time I had bug issues on the front of my rear arches. :)

Love the wheels! I spy a Blackbird, how do you like it? Mine took a crap over the winter and Alpine was a pain in the ass about fixing it so I ended up buying an older 852 system off ebay. I now own a nice Blackbird paperweight.

The black bird is a HUGE piece of crap Alpine screwed up big time. Garmin is the way to go !!!
