    Beautiful pick-up

All that car needs is some mesh wheels and some euro trim.

Thanks. No plans, just going to drive it; other wheel options may be considered though.

          One week update:

Changed out the hood strut and while under there, installed new carpet panels. So much nicer (and a little quieter, too).

Have also installed a modified clutch stop, new hood & trunk roundels.

          Ah, to bE-30 again...

          On the to-do (wish) list:

          - exhaust (or just the muffler?)
          - crackless dash (sourced one - yay!)
          - steering wheel

              May 2010 Update

Got a little detailing done today (amazing what some compound and wax will do for 20 yr old paint).

Changed up things a little inside:

Yes, this wheel is re-stitched so it's a little thicker than an original m-tech one, but it suits me fine. Still considering a Momo.

                          Feb 2011 Update

Well, here we go again. As some of you may know, my previously, well-sorted slicktop (the one above with the beautifully redone cloth interior) was sold last summer because I had to downsize as part of a relocation to NC. Unfortunately, that car had some misfortune and wound up being parted.

Having settled down now, I kept a watchful eye on the market just in case. Lo and behold, a neighbor of mine (what are the odds???) had a similar 318is (except with a sunroof) that he had for a couple of years and decided to put it up for sale to fund another project. Now there was no way to let that go by without giving it serious consideration. Long story short, I picked it up and is now my DD.

                          '91 318is, Brilliantrot/Interlagos Cloth, 150k, 4.10 (non-lsd).

Formerly an mwerks.com project car (see: http://www.mwerks.com/artman2/publish/project_318is/) so it comes with a fair amount of recently documented service and maintenance history but nothing beyond that. Body is clean and straight, though not nearly as pristine as she was when completed a few years back (too many runs through car washes I suppose) :( though she still holds a nice shine. Same with interior - not like it was when initially finished but still truly one-of-a-kind (funny, matches wife's GTI, which is what inspired project build).

A photographed favorite at ViV 2010 as well: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...ighlight=v%40V

May 2011 - SOLD! Going for a 'vert....

Thanks Simon; nice compliment coming from the master of personal project builds!

Yeah Selturk, she "fell in my lap" so to speak. This was by far the shortest distance I ever traveled to "see a man about a horse". :)
