Bought a new car (family car time)

My dad drives a Focus and I hate the seats - they don't have support in the right areas and they feel too high up.
Also, it's a friggin 2002 model.. 5spd... tach was "optional". How lame is that? Tachometers should be standard in all vehicles nowadays, especially ones with manual transmissions. I don't know who to be mad at more, my dad or Ford.

I had a two door focus as a loan car once. I was actually surprised at how good it was. Sure it was an auto an only 1.6l, but it had brilliant steering feel and actually felt quite responsive in the twisties. Was pretty slow though :)

I'm American and I can't stand big Suvs. I think Explorers and Blazers should be the biggest Suvs allowed to the public. I hate to see rich women driving a big fuckin Excursion by theirselves.

The American thinking was saying it was supposed to be a big car, and suggesting a super tall SUV, which, unless you're going offroad, is completely useless. In general your entire country drives cars that are WAY too big for their needs, it's hilarious.

I actually have a chevy tahoe 4x4 4door(full-sized SUV) and one of the reasons I love it is because I know im pissing you guys off

That's what makes me mad. The SUV is just a wagon, but on a truck platform. Why not buy a wagon? They're much cooler (okay, not those Ford ones with the wood paneling, the EURO ones are ;)) and handle just as well as a car. It's really sad.

I like how my car is basically half the car any SUV with half the engine and I'm much faster, can handle better, and don't pay out the wazoo for gas. I also paid about 1/4 of what they did for their "Luxury SUV". 8)

The only people who buy SUVs here are the people who dont know anything about cars and want all that room to transport their shit witch their never gonna ever do in their life. Other people buy SUV's because of growing families. Now-a-days most SUV's arent completly ment for off roading anyways (ie Infinity FX, Lexus RX300/330, Mercedes M-class, Esclade, and not to mention Porsche Cayane, witch is too expensive to even try to go off roading with).

The only real reason people started buying SUV's was realy for growing families. Once those other companies saw a boom in the SUV sales, they started making them not for off roading, but for comfort and all that other crap you could have in a car. Owning a nice SUV is alot "cooler" than owning a minivan, and alot of people here dont even consider a wagon.

I like how they came up with the SUV. Ford took the F-150 platform and made an extra row of seats, and bam, you have the Explorer. It's all about the illusion of safety.

Most people are going to say they bought the SUV because it's safe. However, it's passive safety. Our cars rely on active safety (ie avoiding the accident with quick manevuers...). You wonder why many people can't drive today...

You just made one of the most stupid statements I have ever heard. You said the only people who buy suv's don't know anything about cars....excuse me but the reason i bought my tahoe was to tow my M3 to the track, and use in the winter time and bad weather to keep my M3 geared more towards a track only car. I can tell you I know a few things about cars and suv's, you sound like the uneducated one here. Anyways if I know nothing about cars why don't you see me at a track day with your car and find out what I know about tuning my M3
