There are aspects of the US bumpers that I do like, specifically, what you just mentioned. What I don't like is tired old chrome, and the gaudy rubber surrounds and goofy sidemarkers. I like the length of them as well, but I don't know if I can stand the negatives. The euro stuff is just so svelte and clean looking.
I have considered doing the "lipo/bumper tuck" and painting the chrome parts either body color or black (like the M5).
It's sitting on Eibach pro-kit springs and Bilsty sports, and for my taste, is a bit too low. I'm going to have to go through the suspension at some point and make some changes so we'll see how it goes.
Josh, this car looks great from a distance and in pictures, but this car is NOWHERE near the car that my e30 was. For the money, and considering I really wanted to give the 28 a try, I'm happy. I do wish the details were cleaner, but I really am enjoying the car. IF I do keep the car for the long term, I'll still be thinking about painting it Titansilber amongst other changes. I'm still going to change out the exhaust to something more proper.
