    1986 325e first project/track toy

Hey guys..met some of you last night at the meet but figured i'd introduce myself anyways. Bought this for $1000 about a month ago. All it needed was a steering rack soo...I went to a pick your part and got an e36 rack. Now its gutted a few touches here and there like the bumper tuck, autobox free POS shift knob. I basically did maintnence and a few cheap or free mods first =D

I bought a MOMO steering wheel and still haven't recieved the hub yet, so i'm waiting on that. Now before i even touch the motor i wanna get coilovers. Any suggestions...? Preferably ones on the cheaper side..

I'm gonna get some pictures up here sometime tonight hopefully.

I understand that you're excited but really man, you need to start a thread over it? With no pics?

This thread is worthless without pics. Congrats on the purchase, should be a fun toy. Not sure about the eta as a track car tho, but gotta start somewhere.

An Eta should be fine as a track car. I dont know why people shit on them so much. They all require certain parts to be decent again. And more aggressive gearing :)

Who hates ETA's???? Most e30 enthusiasts have owned an E at some point in time, and if it wasn't for those E's, this forum would be pretty empty as most people would move on to other cars. They are solid cars, and still one of the funnest racers.

ETAs are fine. My "i" has no low-end torque and the "e" I've got feels much more powerful/responsive in low revs.

A guy in my local club does sprint and enduro races with his 325e. Similar suspension as my 325is, and he's only 2-3 seconds behind me on a 1.30 lap.

Any car, in theory, could be a track car...How it performs is a different story. Either way i definetly have seen ETAs at the track. I was just introducing myself thats all..

All threads require a flame suit when you start them on R3V dude. Dont let it get to you.
