broken things...still got a pic

so last event was friday. the inevitable happened... i broke something!!!

ha so some how a bolt on the trans crossmember came loose..fell off, which in turn cause both my mounts to break off my trans itself(i have solid bushings)

only got three runs..one of which was probably my best tandem run so far. kept hearing rubbing noises and thought they were my tires..well as you know. i was wrong.

heres one pic...this is 3rd gear bout 55-60mph. 1 bolt in my crossmember and no trans mounts...LOL







needless to say. i need a new trans. if anyone has a known good trans in the northwest, let me know..i need it!

Call up Funky. I am sure he has piles of them. Reminds me of the time the driveshaft bolts came loose on my 2002 causing my guibo to explode and brake off my shifter plate mount.

Do you know anybody with a welding machine that can do aluminum? Could just have them weld the mounts back on.

my buddy is a tig welding gangster so that has come up but, if i can find a known good trans then i will go that route instead of welding


and issac, he was the first person i called...but the doesnt have one he knows the condition of.:( said he was gonna look into and give me a call..

I ran into your friends at my buddy's local shop (Driftspeed) last weekend, they were getting a car tuned by justin pawlak. couple S13s, I don't remember what colors, but I saved their lives loading the cars onto the trailers.

actually once you're in the right powerband in 3rd gear, it's just as easy as 2nd gear. Didn't you see my runs at the Federal event?

He probably has a Z3 shifter.

yup...entering in 3rd gear about 60 mph...one clutch kick....205 40 17s on 9s..65psi in the tries....like buttaa

as soon as the power band kicks in i go until i lose power which is exactly where i need to transition and i just drop it into 2nd and finish my run
