3200-3400 hit turbo.. You put the wrong turbo on it...

A properly set up street turbo should begin making boost around 1500rpm and be at full boost by no later than 3000 rpm, 2500rpm is even better. Basically it should feel like a larger engine.

Drive a properly set up car you will never think NA again....

My E36M3 turbo made 353whp/345trq and was at full boost by 2800rpm and had a flat torque curve to redline this was at low boost...

I would use MS there is a guy on E30tech who makes a PNP kit for the E30 building a vacum log is really simple too. Skip the SMT-6 I had one along with a slew of others over the years I have tried.. Piggy back is a half ass answer to tune a car....

Oh nice!!! Ive never known anyone with that setup and Ive never seen it in person. Id love to see it and hear it and actually know what the gains are. Especially with the MAF.

this is sweet. if i could get rid of my 240, i'd do it in a heartbeat. i've learned that i too, dont really like turbos. my car has way too much power to really have fun in.

looks good. cant wait to see when its done.

Holy crap, this should be fun! We were talking about this just the other day at work... How a well tuned NA engine is more fun a lot of the time than a turbo engine, especially on the street, since with most turbo engines you end up going way to damn fast when you are trying to have some fun. Either that or shredding expensive tires all the time.

This is exactly the insight I'm looking for. At this moment the M20 is going through a rebuild and I'm torn between building a stroker or build it for turbo. Most people say turbo of course, but that’s 70 lbs up front! In my opinion it is one thing going fast in a straight line and another driving fast on the track or autox. I would love the extra 50hp from the turbo but this is also a DD. I would love some more guidance. It's going to cost me 6k either way with Mega Squirt and tune. With the stoker it will be all new parts with s50 crank and custom pistons, cam, rods, rockers and springs (the whole nine yards)...and with the turbo it will be a stock rebuild salvaging as much parts as possible and using a comatic gasket.....I'm leaning towards the stroker just for the "new" factor alone.
