I'm using S62 flywheel as an example because i've E39 M5 gearbox), upgraded clutch (E34 M5 Sachs racing pressure plate, S62 original clutch plate)

bigger brakes (E34 540 calipers and master cylinder, 312/32mm front discs, 294/19mm rear discs)

Lots of stuff need still to be done but i've couple of months time still :)

Fist question is I noticed in you pics that you have fabricated a collar for the release bearing, Why? does it have anything to do with the clutch you are using? Specs?

Second what car did the brake discs come off of?

The collar for the bearing is to make the total height of flywheel + clutch to be the same as it was originally, so the clutch slave cylinder works as it should.

Brakes are like in the kits on www.300mm.de (audi 312x25 front, bmw 294x19 rear).

I have a E46 Getrag 6SMT going in my E30 with a S52 in front. I would like to run a S52 flywheel and clutch setup with the 6speed friction disc. Can you tell me how you came up with your measurement difference between the stock flywheel/clutch and what you are running? Did you just set the whole thing up on a bench and compare the heights or do you have any info from research you have available to you?

Yes i just put it on the table and measured the total height. Of course the clutch forgives you some, but it can't be too low (clutch stick will pop out from the slave cylinder).

To unmount clutch you need to take the v8 engine out, that's why i didn't want to try whether it works fine without the collar. Well, i'll see how this works in couple of weeks :P

i love those BBS rims, they go so good with a BMW.
i will have a set of my own BBS RS's one day....
I don't even own this car anymore, but I'm too lazy to change the picture.
