I was wearing my work shirt and it has a vw emblem on it so she started asking me about what I do and that led to how she had a rabbit but never drove it anymore.

I bought a new '81 Rabbit Diesel L. Probably the best car I ever had. Remember, it needs a timing belt every 60K miles like the M20. 44 MPG city; 51 MPG hwy actual.

Dude you got a killer deal, if it runs. Those are going for as much as 3k in not much better condition than yours is.

Fix the maintenence issues, update what you can in the basi areas, clean it, and drive it. That car can only save you money. 45mpg+.

Maybe if i get bored with it ill sell it. Right now i just want to get the maintenance stuff done.

I just helped a very good friend of mine get a 83' 2 door GTI(Not sure if there is even a 4 door GTI) Thing is a blast though, It was raced hard in the SCCA for a season so the 8v need's refreshing. Has fully polly suspension, Sways, And shocks/springs, Here are some pics.

Get the hood painted to match, or paint the whole thing silver... dump it, get some mesh under all four corners. Now, the fun part, Bigger injectors, big FMIC turn un the diesel pressure till she smokes alot and back off a little. enjoy.

A few updates:
Replaced air filter, front brakes, front struts, and found a rear window but in these pics it wasnt installed yet. Also ordered new taillights and I might order suspension next week.
