Unpainted lipOriginally posted by randomtask37there is something about it that just doesnt quite look right to me.
Grab another and paint it! :) Put it on whenever you want the car for looks.Originally posted by SkafrogMatt, I dont want to paint the lip body color as it will get chipped at the track, and SEM Trim paint is a hell of alot cheaper than Calypsorot Metallic :-).

I just got RTRS subframe bushings and CAB's
Why did you choose Treehouse over RTRS for CAB's, just wondering?
And where can I pickup a set of RTRS Trailing Arm Bushings?
Looks great, the highbeams are awesome and unique, don't change them.Reminiscing...Comment

Treehouse's are far superior in the fact that they are basically solid with a small delrin bushing. This eliminates ALL flex, as even delrin bushings flex. The bushing also has a lifetime warranty on the insert, and it is very easy to install/dissasemble, plus they work with m50 swaps (thats why they were designed). It is also very moderately priced. I bought the bushings before I started working for them, so I am not biased, I looked long and hard at Bimmerworlds bushings, and ended up getting Treehouses.
You can call Jon at 615-500-1331 and order the trailing arm bushings, or check if http://www.bmwbushings.com has them, they carry RTRS stuff.
Also, thanks for the compliments.

As for the Treehouse CAB's, I might have to return my RTRS ones...but 15% restocking fee? Damn.
Anyone want RTRS Control offset bushings?Reminiscing...Comment

RTRS CAB's are also solid with a delrin insert, I don't see the different in those and the Treehouse ones...?Comment

True there is no HUGE difference, but if you're heading for a engine swap, these help out along the way, mostly in terms of wheel placement inside the wheel well...but other than that, not a significant difference, so I'm sticking with the CAB's I got. How are they better for engine swaps? And aren't they just offset like the offset RTRS ones?Comment
-
They pull the wheel further forward, and closer to the center of the wheel well, a common problem after installing an M50, S50, etc is the wheel is too far back, and this fixes it.Originally posted by DigitalwaveHow are they better for engine swaps? So do the offset RTRS ones, which I have. They make a nice difference. But are the Treehouse ones even more offset than the RTRS ones? Because mine seem about as far offset as they can be.Comment

No, when you do an engine swap you have to modify the exhaust in order to clear the regular designed CAB's. With Treehouse's, you can bolt up a whole e36 exhaust and still clear the CAB, no modifying the downpipes required. It is also the same offset as a regular M3 bushing, giving you 9 degrees of caster in the front end, but there is room with our design to give more caster. Also, there is very little bushing material, as with a stock lollipop there is still a lot of bushing material, permitting it to flex, even though it is made of hard delrin.
M42, thats a problem with 5 lug swaps, not m50 conversions.
Digitalwave: If you dont plan on swapping in an m50 and have already spent the money on RTRS, they are great. RTRS makes some damn good stuff, as I am sure you found out with your rear bushings (BTW: How do you like them?). However, if your bushing cracks, check out Treehouse's as they have a lifetime warranty on the bushing material.

Thanks for the clarification. I understand what you are saying now. I get my RTRS stuff for free, and it has made a tremendous difference on my car. If I hadn't gotten them for free I would buy them anyways. The subframe bushings have taken a ton of "flex" out of my car, and that wicked squeeking and squatting I had from my old bushings is gone.Comment

Ahh my mistake, forgot all about that!Originally posted by SkafrogM42, thats a problem with 5 lug swaps, not m50 conversions.
Thanks for the clarification, and yes I'll be keeping my RTRS stuff. Although I still can't find the rear trailing arm bushings from them for the E30...Reminiscing...Comment
