That looks like a freaking good time man. My schedule is freeing up, so if you're down, we can probably finish this project this weekend.

Yeah. She said next time as this one was to pop their cherries and whet their appetite to the track experience. I got a very positive response from everyone.

This is cool to hear about because ever since I took my Dad to an Autocross he just blabs non stop about it and is even thinking about getting into it himself.

Club race license typically takes 2-3 years, depending on driver skill & ability to attend multiple (read: lots) of track days every year.

Great experience Mariano, glad to see everyone enjoyed it.
You look healthy too, a far cry from the Mariano photos I recall from many years ago. Be safe, be healthy!

Keep in mind, driving events, even "schools" run by groups like BMW CCA can provide you with as much thrill, with the addition of instructor direction to help you hone your own skills.

Healthier in what way??? haha. Fat?? ;) And my question was basically how long will it take for my dad to be able to go out on a track day and race. Be able to overtake. Not necessarily compete for times but get on the track and go as hard as you feel like going.

Takes a while to be able to overtake in turnd and for very good reasons as i'm sure you could imagine. But as far as going all out i'm sure there are some porsche club events he could attend. They let us pass on the outside at willow w/o a race license for the motorcycle events.

                    Quite the contrary, thinner?

No group will allow "racing". You can either build a full race car, to race, OR attend HPDE schools. After ~1.5 years, you might get a sign off by an instructor for solo driving. (At least thats how it works here in NE. The 1.5 years would require ~10 track days, and a demonstration of superior car control skills)

Only if they were driving without an instructor in the car. Otherwise, you can drive on the track with an instructor in the passenger seat.
