      Is that a serious question?

I'll assume it's not... it's not a company. It's exactly what it says. junkyard turbo kit - meaning the parts are sourced from junkyard turbo cars. In the case of mk3 vw 2.0L's the manifold from a 5cyl Turbo Audi 5000 bolts right up. You just need to lop a runner off and weld up the hole. Then you cut out another hole and change the wastegate's port a bit so that it fits in the VW bay.

I used the K26 turbo, external wastegate (modified to make it adjustable), downpipe flanges, oil line flanges, and a few other odds and ends from the Audi 5000. Fabbed everything up, bought 30# injectors, new oil lines, G60 SMIC (terrible) and 30# turbo software from C2 Motorsports.

Thats the main jist of it. Turbo kit for $1000. insta-fun.

The bmw will see nothing as ghetto as that. I had very limited funds, didn't care too much about the car, and VW parts are cheap. So it was just a fun mobile...and learning experience.

And thanks to everyone for the compliments. I'm happy with my purchase. I took pictures of the carnage to post today and brought the wrong chord.

There is nothing wrong with a little junkyard engineering. I'd rather see a well built frankenstein than some blank check build used to compensate for a tiny fallice.

I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Well I've done it ghetto, so now it's time to do it right and take my time.

                And now the ugly...

The up side is the quarter panel will probably buff out - and the rockers weren't harmed.

Yea for sure. Are there ever any good gtg's around the Chicago area? I haven't seen too many e30's around.

Well not much of anything in the city, the only guys i know are out in the north and northwest suburbs. I see some really clean E30's in the city but i don't think that they are active on any forums. there are a few M3 i've seen one lagun grun 318is, a few 325is, and the occasional older lady driving a 325i. No sort of group though that's worth bragging about. Hit me up sometime or shoot me a pm! it would be nice to make some more friends IN the city with these cars.

I've never seen so many late model BMW's all in one place before. You can't drive down a street in the city without seeing 4 or 5 e46+ cars.

Problem is, most of them are just rich folk, not enthusiasts.

yeah but there are a few of them that are enthusiasts. the problem is that the CCA club in chicago is a bunch of rich folk. no real community. let me know when you're free or something. I should be online as well later today around 10pm.

Thanks. And yea, me too - Red is supposed to be the hardest color to match so I hope everything comes out just the same way I bought it. I've got a referral for a good body man.
