    My first E30....and BMW

    Thought I'd introduce myself formally.
    Name's Dave.
    I'm an Industrial Designer.
Just picked up my first e30 about a month ago. I've owned all VW's in the past, none really worth posting up. They were both experimental cars that I used to practice on and drove daily. Both fitted with custom junkyard turbo kits:

    The e30:
    1989 325iS
    290K+ on the odometer
180k on the motor according to the PO

PO had it for the past 8 years and had over $16k in service records, repairs and parts.

Also came with billy sports, Scorpion cat-back, Bavarian short shifter, lightweight flywheel, strut tower brace, and Dinan chip. New paint 4 yrs ago.

I've been wanting one for a while now, so I'm very pleased.
I haven't taken any pictures of it yet, but here are some from the sale:

        What's up Dave.

I keep forgetting how unreal clean that thing is, especially for being a midwest car. Perfect base to start from, can't wait to see where you take it.

That wheel gap is killin me though. Work on that.

It was unreal clean... up until this weekend.
I thought i'd post the squeaky clean pictures before I provoked tears with the new shots of what this mini van did to my drivers side on saturday.

Lets put it this way, if you tipped the car on it's side, you could eat a lot of cereal out of the drivers side door...

Good thing I got insurance 5 days prior.

Sorry to hear about the door. I woke up this Morning, and when i went to pick up the vert at the parking lot. Where i believe it would be safe. The idiot parking attendant put a nice dent on the drivers side door. :(

yea, I get that shitty feeling every time I approach it now. She looked so pretty before. I need to find a good body shop.

Dude, that bums me out. City parking is balls.

                    You need this. So stylish.

                      NUMCHUCKS!

I was driving behind this guy when i first moved here who had about 8 pool noodles strung together hanging from his trunk to protect his bumper.

And as far as ride height - she's staying stock for the winter while I compile mounds of suspension goodies and wheels in my 1 BR, 1 closet apartment.

He does nice work and is a real down to earth guy. not out to make a killing and uses PPG paint. Also it doesn't hurt to negotiate with him either.

                              whereabouts in chicago are you?

just remembered, he's willing to cut a deal if you do some of the work prior like trim removal and such. saves him time and thus you money.
