mtechII spoiler back from paint... *pics*...

So when I got my mtechII spoiler it was diamond shwarz.
my intentions were to leave it that way, i liked it, but after a
little while it became "too much" and the black was overpowering,
so  i had an idea....
Paint the top piece sterling (body color) leave the lip diamond shwarz.
I pictured it, liked the idea, and realized no one had done it before.
So I spent a few hours wet sanding (shops instructions) and finished
prepping the whole thing. A few days later (today) i got it back and
I couldnt be happier, it looks friggen SWEET! I like the lip black
because it adds contrast and matched the black bumper trim.
Like I said before.... I know a lot of people arent going to like it
and will ask me why I didnt paint the whole thing, but it would have
cost me the exact same amount to paint the whole thing, it wasnt money,
it was the fact that i really liked the idea, and wanted to do it, and Im extremely
happy with the result, anyway... here's the pics...

The wing looks a lot better now Dan. But for my honest opininon, I think the car looks very unbalanced. I see the camber adjusters did raise the front a lot... too much. I think the M-tech II wing is too agressive for a stock body, it should come last out of the body mods, in this order: Front lip, side skirts, rear valance, wing.

    Just my $0.02.

just an FYI... my driveway is sloped, so the front looks higher than it is in person... but not by much :( i dont like the raised front becuase of the camber plates... i may have to remove them after the winter...

So you aren't willing to sacrifice the look for all that extra tire life you wanted? :)

yea, the fender gap happened when i installed camber plates last week... they're coming out after the winter i think, i really dont like the fender gap that they created...

no, im not, not if it looks like that... the camber will still be better becuase of the offset strut bearings, but im not really happy with that gap, im 90% sure im going to take them out, ill try removing all the spring pads first, see if that will get rid of the gap, if not, the plates will come out after winter, i dont mind the car a little higher for the winter :) im kinda pissed.

I sort of liked it black actually, but it's nice looking right now too. But there's something about it that just doesn't sit right with me. I still can't get over what it looked like 3 months ago. Awesome job so far.
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.
