I think you've go the wrong idea. The "r3v majority" isn't undermining your individualism. Its just that the majority of r3v thinks your car looks like shit without bumpers and/or you are a jackass.
Besides, it really shows that you are an amateur, saving weight by removing your bumpers. Take a look around the forum and you will see that its possible to get a late model down to 2200 pounds, while retaining your stock bumpers, seats, and ac.

Obviously I have different goals for this car than some people do. I have built/driven/rode in many many many race/track cars. I know what happens with each weight reduction mod, I have only taken it as far as I want to go, for now. The only thing I haven't done that is still on my list is remove the sunroof cassette.
