    i've just ordered ejnight's skidplate

when i put on this skidplate, i might try removing rear spring pads ..
so i'll just update you guys when the plate is on, and take pictures..

dude, have no fear about the rake. mark my words, in about a 1/2 a year you are going to be posting a thread on how to raise the rear of your car cause it is sagging.-- I know cause I had/have low-tec springs in my wifes car.

does look alot nicer now, and I am not knocking you- because for the money and "looks" they are def. not bad.

My wifes car is an e46 touring. I bouhgt a set of springs from the company and installed them in the car and after a few months the cheap "china" metal they are wound out of gives away and the spring effect is gone." happens in all springs, but these are very fast. here is a pic I have of them when they were in the car still. I got into a pissing contest with Mel when he first started his group buy and he told me I didnt know what I was talking about.

I would pull the rear pads for now, but you will more than likely have to put extras thick pads in there after a year to raise the car back up.--
then again, maybe it was just a bad run of springs in my car back then.

              here

I ended up raising the rear by getting M3 rear springs and putting them in the rear now.

in the side view I also had the heavy duty spring pads from the e36 compact(the pad is about 11/2 in. thick

I am not trying to piss on your parade-- cause the car does look tons better lowered- just putting it out there.

wow, that doesn't look very good.. could it be because of the constant work the touring had to do/ or loads it had to carry? i hope this doesn't happen to my lowtecs

good lookin' out though! thank you.

I installed the 60/35 lowtec springs with bilstein sports today. My front doesn't look as low as yours, aSpecD. The drop is even front and back, about .5" gap. I left all the stock pads in there.

I did install front camber plates which adds about 1/8" to the front.
                  Now: 1991 318is Diamond Schwartz ;)
                  Then: 1990 M3 Brilliant Red (sold) :(
                  Then: 2002 330i (sold)

awesome. at least you know that the plates added height on your fronts,
i have stock shock mounts with all pads.
hurry i want to see your stance!

ps. did you by any chance get red fronts and gray rear springs?

I changed all shock mounts (Front and rear) while I was at it too.

My springs were all grey. I'll take a pic when there's light out again, or after I wash it.

So far I'm happy with the lowtecs. They were meant to be my in-between suspension addon. I plan to get IEstage3s in the future.

i changed my rear shock mounts to ground controls but i didn't change front mount. what i need up front are new control arms and hopefully some treehouse racing eyeball control arm bushings..

i love my LowTecs as well, been about two weeks or so now?
still haven't hit my oilpan. lol. [knocks on wood]

                          UPDATE.

LowTecs got de-virginized with a lil spirited driving on the canyons this sunday. awesome bmw weekend, btw. saturday e30 meet and sunday canyon run. the new springs/shocks did great, smooth ride but still kinda soft. but i'm sure bushing upgrades will stiffen things up, [when the funds come.]

i mounted the EjNight skidplate on yesterday. [will post pics of clearance soon] i feel safe now, haha. oil pan protection ftw!

today, i cleaned my ICV, AFM, and Throttle Body.
.. and cleaned the bay while i was there.

anyway i took some crappy camera pics:

                          more pics soon !!

i also took off the bottom rear spring pad.
and i set the GC rear shock mount on RACE.
[i had it on street on first install]
