Yeah, that's true. It might not look terrible on that car, but I'll be interested in seeing how it looks when Trevor gets those euro sets refinished.

    Keep us updated.

If you're not set on making your car as aesthetically pleasing as possible, you may consider just leaving the bumpers untucked. Mid-80s metal BMW bumpers are incredibly tough, a great feature for a DD at risk of fender-benders. Tucking them destroys their shock-absorbing properties and transfers that force directly into the unibody.

Also, they don't look bad painted black.

I thought this car looked familiar...

OP, get a set of Euro bumpers for it like it should have had from the factory!

                  Yup.

Traded my set of 5 spokes from the GTi for them, with tires. A lower profile rides a lot nicer....has some rediculous wheel gap though.

                    Well.

It appears that the subframe is decently cracked so I'm pretty much using up my budget by doing the following:

                    Replacing the subframe
                    Replacing subframe mounts, poly perhaps?
                    Sourcing a 3.73 LSD
Replacing its mount, M roadster mount perhaps?
                    New guibo, driveshaft, CSB.

Hopefully I can have the parts by Christmas and get to it.

Also going ahead and doing a shifter mod...I just haven't decided which shifter to go with yes...decisions decisions!

Started the subframe/trailing arm bushings today.

Had to pull a new subframe from an u pull it, took about an hour...royal pain in the ass to do in wet soil.

Swapping in AKG poly sub frame mounts and AKG poly trailing arm bushings. Still waiting on parts from BMA to do wheel bearings and guibo/CSB...

Well. Been pretty busy over the past few weeks. With the help of ASUbimmer we've installed:

-A set of AKG poly subframe mounts
-The softer of the two AKG rear trailing arm bushings (which, btw, when exposed to salt...are loud as a bitch).
                            -New drivers side wheel bearing
                            -Rear pads and rotors
                            -New Subframe
                            -3.73 LSD
                            -Resonator Delete
                            -Bunch of other small shit.

I've picked up a 2.5 Z4 shift lever and a new carrier bushing, a new guibo and CSB. I'll install those when I get the chance because the selector rod hits the harmonic balancer in 2/4 when installed.

Also picked up a racing dynamics front valance and in the process of trying to talk a friend out of his suspension and a set of euro bumpers and a set of 15x7 BBS RZ.

AND.....Set a date mid June to respray the car too...Pretty excited about that.

                                Soo....holy thread revival...

3 owners, a wreck, 4 years, and halfway through a 24v swap later, I bought my car back last week.

It's in rough-er shape body wise and has been sitting for ages, but the motor seems healthy and I'm looking forward to getting her breathing again. Pictures to come.

The short list of mods that know about since I last had this car:
