    daniel's 325is

I figured I would start my own thread so I can put some updates in here if i feel like it.

today i bought some style 5's to put on my car. here are some before and after pics.

EDIT: MOMO Mirage wheels for sale. 16x7.5, 5x120, ET35. hehehe

you can see that ET35 is even already a bit low:

    not this morning:

and the new wheels (which came from an e38 740i, by the way):

I would LOVE to kill that fender gap in the front, but the fact of the matter is I still scrape that front lip every once in a while, and I'd rather have a car that can go over speed bumps than one that gets stuck on them. I think the rear looks pretty good right now and it surprisingly isn't rubbing, but I might even raise it a bit to make the fender gaps more even. Maybe at the E30 picnic in June I will slam the front or something. Tires are 225/40ZR16 Toyo T1R. Slightly undersized, but I had them on another set of wheels that I bought a year ago, so I am using them before going to a 245/whateverZR16.

    Thanks for looking!

Nice Daniel, how much did they run you? The only thing I'd recommend is to keep and eye out for the 2? piece style 5's, but these look great too. I like your old wheels as well. Any interior pics?

Well, posterity, you will never know what it cost us to preserve your freedom. I only hope that you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it.

I got all four for $250. there is a bit of curbage and one minor lip bend, but I think I can sell the MOMOs for more than I paid for the Style 5's so I am happy with what I paid. As for the 2-piece style 5's (which might actually be fake 2-piece), they come on the e39, are 17x8, and have a different centerbore, so they wouldnt really fit (and I want to avoid 17's).

I have an interior pic from the FS ad... small tear in the driver's bolster and an ugly carpet. other than that the interior is pretty nice.

Thanks guys, I love the wheels too. the only wheels I think could replace them are the style 4's, but those are much rarer and therefore more expensive.

                not true.

style 5 can be almost any weave pattern wheel from BMW. the stock e30m3 wheels are considered style 5s. as are what he has above and also the 2 piece wheel mentioned.

please tell me thats not a volvo lip on your car.....

According to the e28 guys, they are wrong. Style 5's came on multiple cars in multiple varieties.

                  See here for reference.

does it look like a volvo lip? volvo lips look like iS lips that were kicked in and have the cut out in the middle. To be honest I don't know where the lip comes from. I think it comes from a corrado or something. The car scrapes in many places so I am fine having the crappy lip on there for now.

And yes, they are style 5's, just a newer version.

thanks, i appreciate it. It has e36 m3 stuff up front (incl brakes), 318ti stuff in the rear. The suspension is an H&R coilover kit made for the Z3Mcoupe/roadster.

I really like the wheels but that fender gap just kills them. Then again it does suck when you get stuck on speed bumps. Nice car.
