This is BS. They are trying to give me 1333$ for my car when I just paid 2500$ for it in September. Anybody know anything about this kind of situation. I'm not settling for this.

right, a few people have said this already DONT SETTLE.

the car is totalled most likely, that amount wont cover the body work it needs especially since theres probably a 75% chance the B pillar is not straight. tell them the offer is not acceptable and that street value for the car is more than twice what they are offering.

now when you get the money, the car will need the pillar straightened, quarter popped and filled, and most likely either a new door skin or a whole door. id opt for the skin so you can keep it numbers matching.

a professional appraisal from a 3rd party brought my insurance offer from $3000 to $7000.. YMMV.

Shouldnt be totaled. I run a bodyshop and I think a salvage door, blend fender, plus 6 hours to straighten the quarter wouldnt total it. Even if they do, they cant take your car and they still have to pay something. I wouldnt recommend using whatever shop they steer you towards. Do your homework on who should fix it. Some shops have a setup where you can watch the repair live online! Oh, and you dont have to settle....argue until youre blue in the face!

I'd just grab a door off another e30. This car isnt worth the work involved in switching a door skin .

Secondly... where did you find a late model lachssilber car? I was looking for one for about 2 years. That one looked pretty good from the pictures too.

Depending on when you purchased the car show them the ad + bill of sale + bills for anything you spent after purchase, etc. I know when my brother was trying to sell his e28 after puting it in the trader it was totaled and after showing the insurance his ad they ended up paying him the asking price from his ad. Might work. You'll at least get back what you paid for it.

It will be totaled if you go through insurance, but if you fix it yourself it won't be.

Long story short the person who caused the accident left the seen but I knew the kid from school. His insurance excepted responsibility and are paying for my car! Now I'm worried that they will just total the car out. My dad is afraid they will only give me 1200$ for my car, and I just bought it for 2500$. What do you guys think? Is it totaled?

But really, before even dealing with the insurance company, I sure hope you notified the police and got a report so you can work through that guys insurance.
