New Paint Job for the race car

I have been detailing cars since I got my learners and have always used the money for my addiction, Racing! I started auto crossing when I got my learners and moved up to high performance driving the next season on full road courses. I have been making my way up the driving education levels and plan on going for my road racing license this season. I have built up a 1989 BMW 325i for Nasa's spece30 class and finally got some extra money to paint the car. A good friend of mine and myself sanded and painted the car in a weekend in his garage and without further rambling here are a few pictures of the process.

Here is the car before at VIR:

Yes I know a chevy trailer, but you can't complain when you get to borrow a trailer whenever you want.

    After sanding:

Here is a picture of the paint bay, there is a three car garage connected to the bay.

    Taping off the car:

    Sealant is sprayed:

This was the first time I have EVER sprayed a car, not to bad huh

Could you tell there was a sunroof?

    The red goes on:

After letting the paint cure sitting in the paint bay

Sitting out side in the dark:

Still a little more to do putting the decals and such but almost there:

And sitting in front of the daily driver her sister:

    Thanks for looking.

Interesting color, the front end ruins it for me though (but since it's a track car, I guess it makes a little more sense.)

Thanks guys the color is a single stage replica of sunset orange metallic. The front end was quickly done after a tow truck driver ripped off my front valence, I need to redo it but I am not too worried since it's a dedicated track car.

Came out pretty good. I like the color.
Should have taken the time to prep it a little better. Like 2 screws per door handle or popping the trim off the doors.
Still came out good, for a track car.

Looks good, but I would like it more with a nicer air dam. Then again it's a track car and that ones bound to get messed up anyway.

track car or not that air dam is horrible. If you had the $ to paint the thing you think you would have enough to put a decent air dam on. What did you do trade your plastics for the paint?
