I didn't take any pics in progress. But if you look at Josh's writeup, I cut the new valence at the same location where he did. Rather than weld the top edge, I used a number of screws about 1" below the cut line. The old sheet metal and new valence are tight against one another and the short screws create a strong joint.Originally posted by Turf1600 View Post

This pic shows Josh using a screw to hold the valence in place before welding. I just used more screws.
