    skid much?

well i broke my oil pan back in january and i finally got a skid plate from a friend of my dads. we will work out the cost later but i put it on tonight and its legit.

we ha to do some custom fab to it to make it easy to put pn and take off so we welded bolts to the car to hold it on

crappy iphpne pics but here it is:

cleaned the subframe up to weld

yeah, i have 3 mounting points. the 2 toward the front and 1 at the rear, which is right in the middle. the screw gets shaved so often, since it is exposed the most.

how is it setup to mount from the factory?

I need to do a skid plate.. I dont know why that hasnt been a priority.

I remember when I pulled the motor and was expecting a perfect scratch free pan. I found the nub (lowest point) where the drain bolt is was ground down even with the bolt head. Scary how close I came to total destruction without knowing it.

But it was an eta motor and I'd been trying to kill it forever anyways.

i wish i knew. there were to spots in the subframe which we would have had to custom fab also and we would have to drill through the spot at the front for the front bolts too but we decided just to make it a hell of alot easier.

haha ya man i busted mine open on a curb going forward instead of going back (stupid idea but wasnt paying attention and was in first instead of reverse.)

ya mines an eta motor and dont really plan on killing it anytime soon haha

I might just have had good luck or something, but i've never had a problem with bottoming out even going through really f***ed up streets. But, then again i'm always on the lookout from always driving lowered cars.

How big of a factor are tracks with bottoming out? I'm planning on going to VIR this summer and i'm trying to scope things out. (i ask because i see you have track pics)

ive been autocrossing not to the track though. not so fortunate yet. im guessing that they would bottom out pretty easy cuz i know at like thunder hill you get air sometimes and bottom out after but dont know that from personal experiance

correction 4 total. but then yeah same thing screws get shaved off constantly, maybe i run too low for the city streets. hah. i still want more mounting points closer the oil pan so i can just be support.

Your car will be fine at VIR. I've never had a problem there with any of the lowered cars I've been in.

Yeah my distributor rotor finally exploded and that was all I needed to justify pulling the motor. It only had 4k miles on it (that's why you spend the money for OEM parts and dont let Advance Auto source parts for you). My dad had that one at his paint shop from when he was putting an M20 together back in the day.

I wanted it to die so I'd have motivation to put in the OBD-1 S52 I'd put together. It was on an engine stand waiting for probably 5 months or so.
