Why does the e46 coupe' have black side moldings?

I have been looking all over the place for a 330Ci with black moldings and have been unsuccessful.. I'm convinced it was either done by the PO or could possibly be apart of a package? Maybe an option?

The moldings aren't the only black pieces either, the grooves have been painted black as well.. like high-quality pinstriping.. Hmm.

That e46coupe is sick, looks really clean to. you gonna go the zhp look-a-like route? i think you should, and i believe those trimp peices came off a zhp coupe anyway, they are the only ones i have seen with those trim peices..

BUT, i have to say, the Mcoupe was sick, always loved those lil cars and are pretty rare, especially in Dakar. i can see the method to your madness.
