    Power top to manual conversion

I finally converted my '91 unreliable power top to a reliable manual top. Everything now works properly every time.

I think the power top is pretty cool as long as everything works right. My dads car has a power top and it works fine its just the stitching on the top that is wore out so he needs to help bring the top up and down.

I see you power top lid cover is not latched, does it fully close?
When the power top brakes these lids do not fully close, you have to make a special tool to go into the top motor in the trunk to crank it to close

The lid is fully latched and seated on the seal. Everything associated with the power top is gone. The only thing that it needs to be factory correct are the two lower mounts for the gas springs. I will find a donor car and retrieve those soon.

                Parts required; 1-16 except 3 and 5,

                and 5-8.

You will also need to find a donor car to get the two lower gas spring mounts and the safety catch on the cover. The spot welds will need to be drilled out to remove them. They can be attached with blind rivets.

Very cool. I'm debating on weather or not i should do this because for some reason my tonneau cover doesn't not fully close when the top is down. I'm thinking my frame is bent, but I'm not really sure.

Nice work! I did the same to mine last year and couldn't be happier. I was able to sell my motors for $550 on eBay, and the manual latches only cost me $25 so I even made some $$$ in the swap.
