Sorry for somehow missing your question - The Samco hoses came from the E36, but I am pretty sure that they were sourced from Bimmerworld.

I wish I were. I am a hobbyist detailer, and enjoy paint restoration to the max extent of my PC, and this car was a challenge. I spent two full days, and destroyed multiple pads...

...trying to correct the paint, and still, to my utter frustration, it was a horror show in the harshest, brightest/most direct sunlight. However, once I used Danase Wet Glaze to slick the paint down, it really evened everything out, and the wax topper provided a good final gloss. I am really curious to see what a professional can do with a rotary, but once the season truly starts I can keep the finish up with the necessary attention that a black car is going to require.

        I hope. :D

That is my good friend, and also the man who built the car. It's impossible for me to shoot the car and drive it at the same time. :D

Enough of the threadjack. Car looks awesome man!

        Ben
Thank you Ben. You have the turbo 318, yes? And is your uncle's 2002 green? I think I actually had him at the house one day when the car was being cranky, and I entertained him, and his wife, for a while until the tow truck came. I am looking forward to getting back up to CT, and hopefully this will be a fun season this year, without any drama. I've filled my drama quota for a very, very long time. Are you going to do Vintage at the Vinyards this year? I am considering it.

To be sure the car moves, but it doesn't quite move like that. It just doesn't have the power yet. And maybe not ever. Now that I am OBDI, and registered in a state without emissions testing, I have a license to ill compared to the M3, and I plan to use that license to its fullest at some point. I consider the current 262 whp / 231 tq to be the baseline, but I also want to return to the same dyno that I have always used near my house, the one that I am most familiar with, and see what it does there. I do not think that the numbers will be substantially different than the Turner dyno, and for all I know they may even be less, but I need to know where I am really starting before I know what kind of gains I am enjoying in the end. I have a long way to go, and hell the car may never be perfect, but I could not be happier with its current state. It's everything I hoped it would be, and a lot of it the E30-factor that scratches an itch I always chased, but never quite scratched in the E36.

Plus, the car is so very new to me. It's similar to the E36, yet so much more cantankerous and buzzy, and I love it. I am being told that I am going to be trashing engine mounts to the tune of "at least two a year with the way you drive," so I am trying to smooth out the abrupt throttle layon/offs, but it's tough sometimes. Like the M3, the car begs to be wailed on, and I'm happy to oblige.

Dude - The exhaust is stock headers to an E36 AA track pipe, to a custom pipe ending in a B&B Tri-Flo muffler.

          One more video:

It's admittedly pretty worthless. It starts with an idea of acceleration in-cabin, and then moves to the old run-through-the-tunnel thing that I am wholly guilty of enjoying. The rest, well, pretty much sucks, as we were having fun on the drive down to SC from CT, but some people might like the first 30 seconds.

have yourselves a good night, and thank you again for the warm welcome. I look forward to spending some good time here. :)

I spy South Carolina plates and the background in these shots looks a lot like SC...

Sick car for sure. Wouldn't call it my style. But god damn it's beautiful. And can't argue with the powerplant. :D

Best of luck and thanks for sharing.

                              1. With those numbers and gearing you should be able to hang with if not beat an e92 m3. Especially since loonibab///m3 beat a Juicebox 3 335i with intake and exhaust. If you want more power, there is always boost or nitrous! :nice:

                              2. You have the best sounding stock header exhaust I've ever heard! :woowoo:
