I wonder if you could swap to plastic bumpers but keep the 87 front airdam. Are plastic bumpers a little fatter than the metal bumper+surround?

*edit* I guess plastics don't stick out as far as metal bumpers...

It's a different look to me. It's the more classic bmw look with euro's, and the more modern, "hip" look with plastics imo.

Personally, I want plastics just because I lik the rear and lower valence look. As for the bumpers I think euro's look good, I just don't like how the back stick's up and i like the front late model valence a lot.

I think you should scrap the diving boards and get some plastic bumpers

The euros would be cool too but i think the plastic bumpers look better on white cars, especially when they have black kidneys/window trim like yours

I have an alpine 87 just like you. I've thought about bumper swaps but there is something so unique about the 87 airdam that it's worth keeping metal bumpers. I've painted my bumpers black recently and I think it has really cleaned up the "unfinished" look.

                        lol heyyyy..... ;)

Well I voted for MT1 But I don't think you should paint the bumpers. They look so sexy all chromed up like that. I'm actually planning on undoing my shadowline to get some more OG chrome back on the car.

                            yeah that looks like shit.
I wonder if a good fabricator could shorten the 87 air damn so that it's not as far in front of the car.

Personally I like the diving boards. But, if I were to switch..I'd get euroz!

The front view of DB e30s (or maybe just mine ;)) looks more aggressive than plastic bumpers? That's just me though. It holds that 80's styling of BMWs.
