or just get the money from the insurance. then buy it back from them which means you will get more like $1500 and then get him to give you the difference for the repair job. that's what i would do.

We work at costco he doesnt have $2500 to just fork down to me, so we are already going through insurance.

Always fight with the insurance company. I do it all day everyday, so dont let them tell you what they are gonna do for you. I went through this with my GTI and now its fixed without a salvage title 5 grand later!
