thanks for the comments guys! i'd love to swap an s50, i love N/A power, and reliability........but i don't have much money :( i figured forced induction would be the best hp gain for the least cost.

fo realz? I calculated $3500 for a turbo m20 with stock internals, tuned, lower compression vs. at least $7000 for an m/s50 swap

very nice car! do some reading first. there are so many things you could do. stroker, itb's, turbo, and many other build and combination's of builds.

m50 swaps are like under 1000 from what I see.

s50 swaps are realistically 5000+ from what I've seen.

But with these things it's all about the deals you can get and find. Same with a turbo build.

a good reliable turbo set up and a s50 swap are gonna run about the same in price.

cheap, fast, reliable... pick 2. you're gonna have to dig into the pockets to get the better of the 2.

that is a lie. find the m50 in a junkyard(350-700 depending on condition and completeness), re-use the getrag 265(thats what i got on my m20), do the wiring, find exhaust and bam. thats basically it.

dont u also need an 5series oil pan, a different brake booster, motor mounts, and some other misc. stuff?
