trent, no biggie, it's done with and I'm happy. Thanks for keeping in touch.
I got these rims for 2 reasons, lightness and originality. At 16 lbs and not seeing anyone else with the set on an e30, I'd say I accomplished my goals.
For the front spoiler I'm definately gonna go iS lip with a splitter, cause it looked so damn good. Personally, I can't think of a better looking front end for the e30.
I've been toying around with the idea of painting the kidneys red. Might look alright. I'm gonna need a set of black ones around though in case the experiment goes badly.
TJ, do you know if that meet is still going on in Orlando later this month? If so you should come and and just crash at my place. Plus I think it'd be a good photoshoot opportunity (finally).
Don't worry....
Kopi's will stay rare.
That tends to happen when the Real Alpina company commands a cease on production before legal action takes place.
At least, thats the word on the underground street. *shrug* duno if its legit....
Car looks good. Like the move to lighter wheels but they look huge on that car. I am sure the weight loss is more than welcome on an M42.
UNCHLL, I doubt if they will do a cease and desist since Alpina has no real jurisdiction on where the KOPIs are made. Plus they are different enough that they could be called generic.
Now the shocking ones are on a lot of cars in AUS. There are 20 spoke knockoffs with 16" and the same lip design. The KOPIS look nothing like the Alpinas compared to these replicas. Adam Hambly had them.

They already did do the cease and desist. ;)
Part of the issue was they were being sold with real Alpina badges on the wheels.
But I'm getting this info all second hand. I also heard they were required to surrender all current stock of wheels too...

It's this coming Saturday. I really am not sure what I am doing. There is a huge BMW only meet in Miami the night before (Friday night) and I might go to that instead, and go drifting after the BMW meet and then stay at Erick's house again. I was with him these weekend, and I borrowed his Corbeau seat for the week (I might buy it) so I will have to return it to him next weekend anyways.
Both are very tempting, and I am torn. I'll keep you updated.
