    TCS retrofit

    paint sucks

    #2
Took all day :( but it's done.

I had to swap diff covers (had an E28 diff cover and axle stubs on it) and the VSS from my old diff was cracked so I used the new one.

    Victory!

I'm getting some constant diff whine, even though I put 2 quarts of Mobil 1 in it... lockup is good though.

Yeah I feel bad but I had to swap diff covers and it was done at like 11pm with just a flashlight. I got everything I could in the drain pan, lifting up the diff and tilting it etc to get everything out. By the time I noticed fluid on the ground it was pretty much already what you see there. :(

With the torque that those top bolts were applied I needed room to see and to use a cheater bar. Took me like 3 hours to get the top bolts off including trips to the hardware store for a 19mm wrench and cheater bar. Then the driveshaft nuts were a whole different story...

I finished at ~2AM with no lights either (crappy flashlight, I have work lights but they're at a different house). I want to do an engine swap on the street some day. :D

;) I've been torturing the car for the past day or so, I've left plenty of my tires behind.

The most enjoyable part for me though is being able to rocket around a turn at WOT in first or second gear without roasting the inside... definitely fun to slide around though and there are plenty of marks to prove it. :D

Really? That's a lot, my 4.10 LSD only took about 1.25 qts. Did you fill it until it was up to the bottom of the fill hole, while sitting as it would on the car?
