I don't buy that the rods are cast on the N55, but afaik the N55 had much less overkill in fuelling and general strength.

I thought that some versions of the n55 had forged cranks, like in the 135is and 335is, plus upgraded intercoolers or something also.

Has bigger fan shrouds and relocated the oil cooler and radiator cooler with bigger fans. A tune, and the M performance exhaust. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

so the n54 is more turner friendly

Luckily the e60s did not get the n55 even at the end of the gen. I’m on the look out for a 2010 m sport 535xi. I’d consider selling my e30 if the “perfect” one came up. Good buy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Congrats and hope you enjoy the new ride! I wonder how many of us E30 folk also own a later chassis Touring? I'm in the E46 camp with 2mAn.
