Whats up guys. I barely post on here anymore, but figured I could at least showcase what we've been working on for the past few years. I only get a few hours a week MAYBE to work on this car. I run 3 GMC dealership service departments during the week, and a dyno tuning/fabrication shop on the weekends, so my personal projects take the back seat most of the time. I'll try my best to describe the setup and reply to any questions with the limited time I have. Bare with me, this may be a rough post.
The car started out its life as a stock 87 325is. Ended up making 522whp/500tq out of a stock 2.7 bottom end. Head had Bimmerheads 280/274 cam, and the associated HD valve springs and rockers. Car was fast, but the trans was terrible and felt like it was the biggest drawback. So I decided to go DCT swap. Well, in the midst of doing the DCT swap, I built a forged 2.9L bottom end with expectations of 700whp or more. Ran into some machine shop issues that just couldn't get my head right. Wasted 3 heads in the process due to lack of poor workmanship. So, I had this old stock unopened 2JZGTE VVTi lying around that I had planned on putting in something. Decided to just throw that in there and mate it to my DCT and do something that has not been done yet. Although we have already done a 2JZ E30 swap, and someone has done a DCT swap into an E30, they have never been combined before...and I can see why!
