His family owns a body shop so they can source parts for un godly cheap amounts, and yes he is just doing to m50 for the time being until a proper s50 or s14 can be sourced.

Well starting out with a shell, it's going to be expensive getting everything together and very time consuming. An S14 is worth 3-4X as much as an M50 so can't blame him for opting for the M50 for now.

Can I get some back history on this? Why on earth would you want a M50 in an M3 shell? I only hope because you're going with some crazy FI. Even then, you know what engine belongs in that car...

Think about it
he got the car for free basickly(had to paint another guys e30m)
the engine for 200
and we have already sorced parts for the 5lug swap, from the looks of it he will be able to have this car on the road for under 4-5 grand
if you got an m3 shell for free, you know you would rebuild it to!
