I found having that outlet to go fast makes me ride calm and collected on the road.

That is your home shop with triple level storage racking? Epic, I hope I have a setup like that one day! :)
I Haven't been on a track with a bike. Maybe some day ill give it a try. lol

The workshop isn't at my home. about 10 minutes away. We found the 3x3 car lift on Ferrari chat for $7500 about 7 years ago. Disassembly, shipping, and assembly was not included.
The only downside of it is that it severely increases the temptation to buy broken cars.

      Progress Report...

Work has been incredibly busy, so my progress is not as much as I would like, but I am getting somewhere.
I finally disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled the HVAC unit.
The pictures don't do it justice, but this thing was filthy.

I didn't want to, but I ended up drilling the rivets out and splitting it in half so that I could throw it in the ultrasonic bath...no pictures of the completely disassembled state...the ultrasonic was definitely better than scrubbing this thing by hand.

I did get to confirm that my 3D printed recirc/fresh air flaps fit very well!

I have no idea what these little copper contactors do for the "face air" and "foot air" on the HVAC control levers, but the one for the foot lever had come off and was rattling around in my parts bag for the HVAC unit.
I got out the pin vice and a 2mm bit and sent some machine screws through both contactors to make sure that they would never fall out again. (the spring pressure on these things is pretty high! I used all 8 of my hands to hold it in position and get the screws installed!

I hope the screws hold better than the rubber cement that the factory used.

      Here it is all reassembled...

That's all the photos I have from this round. I did actually install the HVAC unit, but then quickly realized that it was in the way of reinstalling the Windshield wiper assembly, so I pulled it out.
After pulling it out, I realized that I should really get a new firewall boot, and replace the heater core tubes. so now I am waiting for those parts in the mail before final assembly.

I have also made some other progress, but didn't take any photos.

      ABS Unit installed.
E32 brake master and booster reinstalled.
      Accelerator Pedal assembly installed.
late model 325i wiring harness modified (to send tach and consumption signal to eta OBC) and installed.

I also spent a fair amount of time cleaning up my work bench in the shop today. It's amazing how fast the clutter can build up.

I feel like I am missing something, but I can't think of it right now.
I've spent a lot of time going through old parts purchases and sorting out my memory.
I hope that as some fresh parts show up, progress will ramp up quickly!
