So I started with that shitty 318
then with an 89 325i
and now I have a 90 325is with 3.79LSD
no mods, all stock under the hood. Purrs like a kitten, being slowly pet.
anyway.. Went ahead and did the timing belt and new water pump. took me 2hr.
I was actually very blessed with the whole timing belt situation. I bout the car about 200 miles from where I live and drove it down here. Went to a few car meets, few races, few run arounds... Once I started the motor, the water pump spat out all my coolant. so as I check the coolant with the engine running (cold) I hear a light slap going on in the timing area.
took off the cover and viola! I had a shredded timing belt that looks like it hasnt been changed since the car was new. I turn the crank by hand to line up the OT marks and it snaps. But anyway
interior is gorgeous.
issues:
Squeaky clicky noise from the guibo area... only through 1-3 gears.
a/c compressor is shot.
small rust spots in random ass places (northern car)
limited slip isnt very limited
trunk rusted so swapped from an 325i
Great things about the car:
Every single maintenance record since 1991
new tires
clean interior, not a stain on me
luv the lil trip computer and the ecu locking feature
steering, suspension, bushings, and etc are tight.
no dents or dings
Interior mods
Kenwood KVT-819DVD with HD radio, reverse cam, stereo bluetooth
new polk db all around. 5x8 in the rear and 5 1/2 in the front. custom fitted and stealthed. check the pics.
power acoustik 820w amp 2ohm stable bridged hooked to
2 12" polk db subs.
2 farad cap
polk tweeters in the stock tweeter pods..
thats about it for my nice little sound setup. The nice thing about the excelon head unit is that It has a built in crossover that I can control each individual speaker and subs. no need for amps. pretty kick ass sound goin on.
on with some pics
oh, and sorry for the crappy quality.. more to come

tryin to wire the alarm

no you see me

now you dont

my plans are to keep it clean...
find a nice lip and splitter...
tint it out
Find a place to fix the rust and repaint it with a cleaner and brighter white
3M film the front end and sunroof.
find another set of basket weaves or some nice sportmax 006's lol....
those bbs drreams or whatever are sick
I want to say turbo, but i'm a college student and the economy is still shitty right now so I'd rather invest in somthing else. I would really love a turbo tho. $1500 set up at most if I do. No more than 220 at the wheels.
and thats it..
Let me know if you guys know of a good rust treatment.
