Okay here we go. First time on Sears Point, first time tracking wheee30. Nothing even exploded, though the car has been down on power for the past few weeks (butt dyno says ~30hp shy of where it should be, but who knows) and the "high temp" RTV I used to seal the diff cover apparently wasn't high enough temp. I skipped the final session because the diff was leaking.
Also the rear tires were a bit bald and it got worse later in the day, of no help on my part. Here ya go. :)

California

That is about a mile or two from where my mom lives - where I spent a few years back in 2009 doing physical rehab. Yes, nor-cal(true northern California), is amazing. I-5 through grants pass is a fun time, it will totally test your alignment and toe-in. The roads have been worn down with trucks, and snow plows, you'll jump all over the place if you have anything but some good toe-in. I could do 90 on that road with a SUV. In the e30 with next to zero toe, I'd bounce around as the surface is so, so random. Anyways....
Next time you come that way, stop off in the city of Mt. Shasta. Pull off the free way, and go to this little tiny park. Kinda hard to find.... There you'll find the head waters of the Sacramento River. It's the run off of Mt. Shasta, well kinda..... After it's gone trough the mountain and miles of rock to filer it. It's a small stream, that just come out of a hill. And then ends being a huge river along the way.
Bring some bottles to fill up and take home. Like lot of them. It's the most amazing water you'll ever taste.
People come from miles away to fill up their jugs of water. It's that good. I kid you not.

Our love story shall always be forged in my heart. The actual road trip was pretty fun, even with all that time spent in the parking lot repairing an oil pan. It really showed how unique the car community is. A random guy that likes E30s shows up to road trip in an E30 finds unexpected adventure and a common bond with a fellow enthusiast, forged by the desperation and uncertainty of being stranded 300 miles from your destination.
A true r3v fairytale.Leave a comment:

1 oil pans are meant to go at the worst times3 things:
#1 Awesome road trip, but more reason to either get a skid plate or do the E36 oil pan conversion
#2 Based on your avatars I thought FredK would be the white guy and Wh33lhop was the asian dude and that scares me because people might think Im a big titted chick
#3 was the 114* in the middle of Oregon? I remember doing the drive and it gets nasty out there sometimes. I just hate driving Oregon, 55mph speed limits, cant pump my own gas, seems to take forever
2 nate is a sexy tall white blonde-ish. fredk has a great laugh. sexy couple.
3 dont stop for gas in Oregon, I didnt and still have 5gl left.Leave a comment:
