Got bored while waiting for the UPS guy to show up.

Installing 35watt 4500k ddm raptor kit tomorrow, and also test fitting 15x8 trm c1 wheel with 225/50 v710 to see if I'll need to roll the fenders or not.

Also replaced the glass again (the first one had a couple rock chips that I didn't notice at first). And installed new water seal along with the other
seal type thing that goes on the door panel.

It doesn't come pre-cut, so you do have to trim it yourself.

What did you use to cut through the sunroof seal? That was a bitch for me when I replaced it.

Exacto knife, I looked where the "metal" ends and cut between them. Otherwise you'll try and cut through the metal re-inforcement or whatever it is inside the rubber seal.

I got the 225/50 Kumho V710 mounted today, tire shop said they didn't even have to balance them, maybe because they are new?

Fitment is dead on, no rubbing but I am not slammed or anything.

Yeah, I need to send the bilsteins in for warranty repair and then sell them. Same with H&R sports. I have a modified set of strut housings waiting for Koni inserts and new GC rates.

Guess bilstein sports couldn't handle 500/front rates for too long lol, but i have the thinner ones on the car so that maybe had something to do with it.

Not much new.... SPAL fan will take place of the a/c fan.

Got the AKG shift arm bushing and e36 to e30 non airbag rack swap hardware. In the next week or two might do the rack swap for an e36 3.2 lock to lock rack. I have a set of complete e30 tie rod ends, need to re-read the rack swap thread to verify that they'll fit ok.

Still haven't painted the m-tech pieces, really need to start with the rear one in order to re-do the exhaust at the same time.

Finally got new street tires on the car, went with 205/50 BFG g-force sports. I really wanted to go with 225/50 but the current wheel offset didn't allow that.

Also had my car weighted at a local performance/race shop on accurate scales.

This is with full interior (dash/glovebox/front and rear seats/carpet/headliner/all door/rear panels/trunk carpet), but no spare and no jack and no a/c compressor. Everything else in the car. No sound or weight reduction. On 15x6 bbs ra with 205/50 bfg g-force tires, corbeau seats, drum to disk convertion etc.

2500lb with half a tank of gas, no driver in the car.

I am fairly happy with the results, battery will need to be moved back next.

Alright one major item is off the "to do" list, only a 'few' more left to do lol.

Here is the custom exhaust. 2" tubing before the cat, and then 2 into 1 2.5" after. I am using a cheap magnaflow 11216 muffler.

Charlie(pinepig) doing all the welding, I am doing all the grinding and cutting.

                              Front section tac-welded

rear section tac welded before clean up

of course nothing ever goes as planned

Such a huge difference when the exhaust is done right, nothing is rubbing under the car, made the interior quiter.

Exhaust has a nice deep sound at idle and while driving, has a slight rasp only at WOT. Made the car much more enjoyable to drive now :)

Next on the to-do list, power steering rack swap (my rack is leaking slowly on the drivers side boot). I have an e36 rack and new lemforder tierods/boots and akg motorsport spacers for the swap. Hopefully power steering lines won't be a problem.

Once the rack is done, I want to clean up the engine bay a little bit by installing a late model 325i overflow tank in place of the e32/e34 tank and replace my old booster with new(er) one.

No idea why I didn't just update this thread...

Ran the wiring for the map light mirror down the passenger a-pillar, tapped into the glove box light wiring.

Got the interior delay kit / relay from George Graves, installation was super easy, hightly recommend this kit!

Added the wiring for the 6-button obc/clock, I got tired of the analog clock and wanted to try something else (now I just need to get/install the temp sensor).

Fixed my trunk light (wire was cut by the trunk hinge mechanism lol), and added a second light while I was there. Pretty easy and popular mod, nothing new.

Another thing I did was upgraded the rear tweeters to silk dome type, these are stock bmw tweeters used in some (late model) 5 and 7 series cars. Now my rear speakers sound better than the front, DOH!

And finally, replaced my glove box and aligned it a little better so I don't have to slam it to close it. What a pita!

                                On to the pictures:

Replaced the fuel gauge face last week, as I was pulling the cluster to check/try something...

Oh and replaced the failed RSM, but that's in another thread -

Replaced the keyed glovebox latch with keyless one. I like the look more, and it just looks cleaner imho.

Blunt sent me this after seeing my Jeanica picture lol

                                These look fun to install

Anyway. Put over 6k miles on it since the swap.... about to do 2nd oil change. Picked up a case of 20w50 castrol syntec...fucking $50 for oil ARGH.

Car still rips, no issues yet. I wish speed limits were higher though, I just love going through 2-3 gear and hearing this engine scream hahaha.

Exhaust did get a little louder at WOT, but still is deep and managable below 3k rpm. Also replaced the other failing rear shock mount, was half way torn.

Dropped off a spare b35 head today to get checked out /tanked, then it's off to get a head/valve job + 284 cam.

Was pretty straight forward taking the head apart, didn't need any special tools. Left the springs/valves in there for machine shop to deal with though.

Cam that came out of the 2nd head, it does have bmw casting numbers on it, but the lobes look funny....
