The houndstooth interior looks great. Good progress on this, especially with the swap! This makes me want a schwarz early model for a daily soooo bad.

And welcome to the SCHWARZ ARMY.

No longer stock ride height, rolling as low as a daily driver in New England should without worrying about breaking an oil pan.

Well, today is the big day. Got my new knock sensors and installed them, and soldered M20 starter connectors to the harness. The MT harness is ready to go on. Heading out to the garage now

Alright, while putting the harness in, I immediately noticed a couple differences between the old one and new one.

I need to know where these wires go...

looks like 2 hot wires to me, but i'm the one who fried a DME, so i won't be doing anything stupid

and here's on the other side, guessing this is just a hot that goes to the battery terminal.

if you guys want to see progress, give me some answers!!! remember i'm going at this alone with ZERO prior experience, and by zero i really do mean ZERO, so any help is appreciated. everything under the manifold is pretty much ready to go. it's the easy undocumented stuff that i'm having the most trouble with.

Yeah, the 2 red wires on the driver's side are for the e36 starter... these aren't necessary when using the e30 M20 starter. Life is much easier (apparently) if you remove those wires. Either way they're not necessary if you retain the e30 starter wires.

The 1 red wire on the other side is a hot, going to the battery terminal.

I have no idea why this info isn't posted everywhere, I dug deep and found a couple threads with answers but that's about it. Everyone should know this wiring info before doing the swap, as it's taken me about 3 months just to get it figured out on my own.

I've made the decision to pay someone to finish this wiring bullshit for me. Winter is coming too fast and I need to be driving this thing!

wow, you have made some huge progress so far. Good luck getting it all finished.

Are you on eurowerks? I think I remember seeing your e46 on there before, I'm vwmichael I don't really post much on there though.

Yeah I'm on there every once in a while, not in a long time though. My main forums are e46fanatics and these 2 e30 sites.

I'll need all the luck I can get! I'm going to have to put the car together for transport pretty soon here...

Well, I just made my last major parts order. Lots of parts and screws got lost and broken and stuff. When this order comes in, the car will be towed to a local shop, I guess they specialize in rally cars. Good thing the e30 isn't lowered yet. lol

Bumping this thread because it sounds like this has happened before. I tried searching 'blower motor power windows mirrors' and nothing really came up.

                            What you thinking?

There is a wire that goes to your starter. I believe its the black one with a green line.
Thats what gives power to the blower motor, power windows and I forget what else.
