Will be following this. Will you be removing anything other than interior items? I know prep weight is lighter than stock(obv) but Im wondering what will and wont be necessary to remove.

Going through the rule book right now, soon as it comes back from the cage builder we will corner weight it and then start removing/adding items. For example, battery, heater core, blower, front door windows, etc.

Unless Kish is a really big guy, you probably want to leave a lot of that in there. Otherwise he is going to have to run ballast.

Given the full cage, data aquisition, and suit cooling equipment, we should still be above the min weight limit.

However, if we are, it will give us a chance to place the ballasts where we want them anyways.

we'll probably leave some of the sound deadening you see there in as well as run a spare tire. the good thing with ballast is that you can place it where you want.

unless they changed the rules - no, you can't.

Ballast has to be bolted to passenger side floor.

EDIT: leaving the tar and running the spare may do it.

As far as the battery, I think I recall seeing some of the spec guys actually looking for the heaviest tractor battery they could fit to add more weight to the rear . . .

your right, ballast segments need to be in the passenger foot well or where the passenger seat would be. we'll leave battery stock depending on the weight distribution once the cage is in.
