I'm doing the lock rebuild now, and I can't for the life of me get that last coiled spring on, how did you do it, any tricks? Or just sheer brute force?

It was a a bit tricky and it took me awhile to figure it out. I held the bottom spring tab up against the wall then coiled the upper tab to the other side of the wall.

It's your lucky day! I still have the old locks laying around so here are some pics...

Lower and upper tab on spring...

Make sure the lower tab is on the bottom...

Push it up against the wall...

Now pull the upper tab towards the other side of the wall...

      It should look like this...

Drop the latch down making sure its between the upper and lower tab...

      Should look like this....

There should be resistance when you turn the key both ways and the spring should pop it back to center.

i just did this over the weekend as well, but didn't take any pictures... By the last coiled spring, do you mean the one in the above pictures, or the little spring that is the last piece to go on the lock assembly?

Oh I forgot to mention that this is the passenger side.

If you are talking about the the little spring that flying voilin mentioned then you might want to use this DIY thread for reference.

Yeah it's the last little spring, that son of a &%^&*%&&)(. I'm just going to rely on sheer force, fingers crossed.

for personal clarification, the flush mount valves are drilled into the barrels and the lips are full flush correct?

are you by chance using those L shaped valve stems and then routing it to one of the blot holes,
or do you have to remove the wheel for inflation?
