This build looks awesome though! Are you going to paint-match the engine like you did the S14? Car looks awesome, keep up the good work!
Werd, the a/c compressor lookalike is and emission control air pump:

Lookin good. Also interested in what your doing to the oilpan. For keeping the semi-dry sump i assume. Its going to be a tight fit.

    Welding the oil pan?

And I spotted those O.Z's in the backgrounds. I like.

I hope you haven't totally destroyed the e36 shell yet...

...because then you could swap the s14 into it :D.

That would be so funny to have two cars basically the same color but with swapped engines. Then you can turbo the s14 and make the e36 a crazy track car!

    Awesome project!!

What are you doing to the oil pan that needs welding? Just use an E34 M50 pan and dipstick, it must be cheaper to go that route.

Well, there is progress in the shop. Oilpan has now been washed in a industrial washing machine and is clean and ready for welding.
I have spendt some time to clean dirt from the engine, witch is a lot! I have ordered a lot of parts. M20 motor mounts, e34 m5 3.6l tranny mounts, gaskets, o-rings and some gear shift parts.

The throttle bodies had to come off and have now been a trip into a media blast chamber.

While I'm at it, can someone tip me off how to get the viscose fan clutch off from the waterpump?
It is links but it is stuck like hell :(

Well, got the S50 out at last! Was quite a buzz, the exhaust manifold did hit the steering knuckle all the time. So to make it easy I did just drop the subframe and took the knuckle off, so it did just slide out easy :)

Now its for me to get the oil pan off and send it to welding. While I wait for that the engine will get a real makeover with a wash and some paint for the valve cover.

Subscribed. Looks like a very nice transplant recipient and donor. I'm always on the fence about e36 M3's... love/hate. Regardless, an e30 with that S50B32 stuffed into it's engine bay always looks like pure awesome-ness. Good luck and keep us updated.

    P.S.

Love your garage setup! How cold's it get in there?
    I see what I did there :D

Thanks, glad you like it. About the garage it was just finished late last summer, it is full insulation and rubber seal doors. I have one small oven on 2kW with potentiometer regulator down there which is on all the time when it is so cold outside. -10 yesterday outside, but inside I worked on skate shooes, woring pants and two sweaters.
I have stuffed the four vents now when there are no cars running in and out of it.

So, now I'm about to go ut and do some work on it. Pictures coming up later on today :)

    Cheers
