update: 1st time buying anything from pelican parts. Great time, would do it again. Good customer service, and shipped came 2 days earlier than they said it would!

I ended up getting a FAG front hub&bearing from FCP. I don't know if it was random or a mistake but i was happy. The OEM bearings are FAG btw.

update: the car is over heating for some reason. I havnt really spent too much time trying to figure it out. Im not exactly sure how much coolant really goes in the car from empty to full. I drained it completly... so if anyone knows. iv put almost 2 gallons in. bmw coolant/ distilled water mix

          anyway.

          replaced fuel filter

as well as other various things

spent a long time washing, clay baring and waxing

Really enjoy seeing how far and how fast this car has turned around.

                Nice work !

Hope things are getting resolved with the fuel leak and coolant system..

i think there's a reference somewhere for capacities...

I would download that guide just because its such an amazing reference :)

Right click on the main file and "Save-as" - if you click it, it will take forever to load.

                            per owner's manual:
                            "Cooling system including heater circuit
                            318i/s 6.9 US quarts/6.5 liters"

                            6.9 US quarts = 1.7250 US gallons

Use of genuine BMW (blue) coolant is strongly recommended by many.
Get one (~$20) gallon of BMW coolant and have an empty 1 gallon jug handy. Pour half of the BMW coolant into the empty gallon jug. Fill both (1/2 full) coolant jugs to the top with distilled water. Then you're set with two gallons of ready-mixed fluid. Since capacity is ~1 & 3/4 US gallons, you'll have just the right amount to spare as air is worked from system.

Purcell's coolant bleeding guide. (procedure i used w/ good results) (removing upper-most coolant hose from radiator and back-filling first also seemed to work well) (here are more words in parenthesis)

thanks for the info. im out of town at the moment. wont be able to do that again. But that pretty much exactly how much coolant i put in the car. so i know that its not just low on coolant :( theres a bigger problem.

When I open the drain valve on the bottom nothing but fluid comes out. i really dont think there is air in the system. its a perfect stream. god im going to be so pissed if my head is cracked.

what are signs on a crack head? leaking coolant? white smoke?

god damn it, i really dont want to look for a swap just yet
