Ditto.
BTW, Loving the color of the wheels. Makes me consider getting creative with my TRM's.... But I'm afraid to change the factory finish.

Oh nice, fully rebuilt trans with new synchros, bearings et al?
I've gotta ask how much it was...Leave a comment:

Making some progress. We got the old noisy, leaky box out and the new one bolted in. Reaching those transmission and starter bolts is a real motherfucker. We ended up ripping out all of the insulation material out of the trans tunnel. I hope shit doesn't get too loud and hot.

Lots of fluid thrown around in the bellhousing I think the front seal was my main source of leaking trans fluid. Luckily the clutch is all clean.

Heres the pretty new box from drive-gear.com. It certainly looks nice. Lets hope it works as good as it looks!

I'll be trying to get the driveshaft and exhaust back on later this week. Drive-gear recommends 1000 street miles with ATF for the break-in. Next Sebring day is September 15 - thats not much time for 1000 miles! Looks like I'll be driving it to work with some joyrides on the way home!Last edited by Lof8; 08-27-2012, 05:25 PM.Leave a comment:

Such a nice progression, makes me really wish I'd waited for another 4dr instead of buying a two door this time around. Sweet project.Leave a comment:

Two words. Plastic Bumpers.
Sorry, forgot I was spoiled with the 88, looks like you have the high arches.
Carry on, beautiful car.Leave a comment:

Well, the latest happening with my car:

I believe the modified carrier I was using did not align perfectly with the mounting point on the transmission. I think the misalignment finally caused the welded portion to snap. Unfortunately, this happened on shift # 1 of run #1 on an autocross day :( My whole day was shot and I was stuck trying to find a way to get it home.
My plans for the next couple of weekends include swapping in a rebuilt trans from drive-gear.com and going to an AKG DTM shifter to eliminate the need for a shifter carrier altogether. I'll report back with my results.Leave a comment:
