Awesome thread. Have you decided on a place to run it yet? The Varac G70+ group like you mentioned earlier would be a good place to run the car. They have strict no contact rules (13/13) so you won't have to worry about meatheads running into you like in the local Castrol Touring Car series. There is about 3-4 E30 M3s that run here on a regular basis along with one 190e... That would be great to get another 190 out here. Good luck with the build!

Nice project! If you haven't already, you should post up your progress on 190rev.com. I'm sure many of the folks over there would be pretty excited to see it.

awesome. this car is going to be so sick. Every time I think of 2.3-16, i think of my uncle's 190e, and me, at who had just gotten my license, cruising down the autobahn in it. Everything about this car is so perfect. The EVO II kit will look amazing.

Just a quick update to let you know the project is still alive. Here's what's been going on:
    • We're waiting on some cool Euro parts that Levent was able to source from his contacts in das Vaterland :hitler:
    • We have a potential lead on a genuine 2,5-16 Evo II bodykit. I'm stressing the word "potential."
    • If the OEM Evo II bodykit doesn't pan out, we have some cool ideas for alternatives.
    • We've taken care of about half the electrical issues. There are a few more things to sort out, but nothing too serious.
    • We've got some ideas about strengthening the hubs/spindles and upgrading to multi-piston, mono-block calipers using mostly OEM M-B parts.
    • We're about to start the design phase for adjustable links/arms for the multi-link rear suspension. Should give us better control of the rear end under hard cornering.
    • We've started slowly stripping out unnecessary parts from the car. This will take a while.
    • We've got some ideas about tightening up the steering feel without abandoning the OEM recirculating ball steering box.
    • We're in the data gathering phase for rebuilding, strengthening, and increasing the lock-up of the rear LSD diff.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot the best part...

We're working with Levent's contacts at Cosworth Engineering UK and Extrudabody to prototype a complete, bolt-on ITB set-up with properly sized and tuned intake runners to maximize track performance. The final product will look similar to this VW set-up:

Of course, we're going to ditch the Bosch mechanical fuel injection in favor of modern EFI. And we've got contacts that will help us design and build a genuine carbon-fiber intake plenum to deliver equal flow to all 4 cylinders in our desired rpm range. Once tested, all of this will be available to the 16v community as a direct bolt-on package

Will keep you posted as things develop :dot:
