wow! this is AMAZINGLY similar to my story! i picked up my no-airbag (11/88 ) AWII 325is over a month ago and am doing/have already done many of the same things in the same order. i even had a weird alarm setup exactly like yours. mine was an all-socal car too, and i'll bet that they're been in the same shop together. wish i had seen your car last night @ dockweiler!!

so this happened.

engine temp sensor for the gauge in the cluster.

I was at a shop in lake forest Ca

and an e39 m5 arrived like this


it was being stripped of its interior.


I spotted something useful to me.


I asked the owner jordan if i grab it and he said ya go for it.


newer style bmw's, have 2 engine ground straps.
One on each side of the engine attached to the frame rails.
I'm not sure when they started doing it but, both of my e30's have had a stud on the passenger side frame rail exactly like the driver side frame rail that can be used to add a second ground strap.

So that is exactly what I did.

I also just put a new nut on it.

So I wanted to get my injectors rebuilt,
I sourced a set of injectors out of an m20 that was swapped out to do an s50 swap so it was out of a running e30.

I was short on time so I went down to a shop to get them done.
